First Creation was the first image that lead Mr. Husband into his career as a visual artist.  Looking closely at the piece, you can see that it is based on an old European pagan creation myth involving god(man) and goddess(woman) in the act of making love, along with all the known elements that sustain life.  Truly, it is a magnificent First Creation, both as his intial foray into professional artwork and as an iconic tribute to genesis itself.

The Haunting
Graphite on 18"x24" drawing paper

This work of art is the inner refelction of the bitter sweetness of love, a haunting feeling which resides in all of us.  The sweetness is represented by the eyes of love looking down on the object of affection, while the darkness and cobwebs speak to the constant reminiscing of the unfulfilled expectation and loss that comes from love unrequited.

Ghost Of Her

Like The Haunting, Ghost of Her is a reflection of love unrequited, this time through indifference, once again resulting in a love bitter sweet.  However, notice that as the morning tide rolls in under a translucent sunrise, along with linen slipping delicately from her shoulders, the woman is not only wanting love, she is open and ready to receive it; waiting anxiously for its arrival.  Her eyes connote a longing for the passion, the experience, that comes with new love.
